Robinwood Elementary School did a FANTASTIC job raising money for the National Heart Association. This has been a school tradition for years, and this year was no exception.
They raised a total of $6,088 for Jump Rope for Heart!!
The students who raised $50 or more were in the $50 club and got to celebrate together with their bright green shirts that say "Lifesavers League".
They wore their shirts to school and enjoyed extra time in the gym signing shirt and playing some games with Mrs. Flores.
The money raised goes for research in the fight against heart disease!

What a great way to kick off the March PTA meeting at Boardman Center Intermediate School!
We were treated to an outstanding presentation by Mrs. Carchedi’s sixth grade class. Students selected an influential figure—past or present—researched their lives, and shared powerful summaries through six-word memoirs.
Such a creative and meaningful way to bring history and storytelling to life—great job to our students and Mrs. Carchedi!

A BIG Congratulations to Boardman teacher Melanie Oberle--Who will be among an amazing group of educators across the Valley, honored on March 3rd!!

Melanie's sparkling personality and caring nature has made an enormous impact for hundreds of k-3 students who come to school speaking little to no English. This year they represent 17 countries with nearly a dozen different languages and dialects. A teacher for 17 years, she ensures that her students integrate and celebrate their diverse backgrounds!!

Congratulations to Boardman's Melanie Oberle--Educator of the Year Nominee.

More than 200 fifth graders at Boardman Center Intermediate School had an out-of-this-world experience connecting with Boardman alum and NASA structural engineer Nick Mastramico during two virtual learning sessions!

Students loved learning about the Artemis mission—including the fact that four astronauts will spend 10 days in a spacecraft about the size of a minivan 😲. Nick shared how the rocket is designed, the many safety checks before launch, and what it’s like working behind the scenes on NASA’s next trip to the Moon.

Nick also told students he knew he wanted to work for NASA when he was in 6th grade—and that he truly loves his job today at Marshall Space Flight Center.

His message to students: Dream big, discover what you enjoy, and lean into what you do well. 🌟
You never know where those dreams might take you!

✨ New year, same strong focus on character at Boardman Center! ✨

At BCIS, we continue to celebrate our students for living out our core essentials—and January’s value, COMMITMENT, was on full display. Commitment means making a plan and putting it into practice, and our Spartans did just that!
We are so proud of our students for the effort, responsibility, and perseverance they show each day. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible staff for taking the time to nominate and recognize these students—it truly makes a difference.

Thank you to Katelyn Johnstin and Raising Cane's for your partnership and free kids meals for our reward recipients.
Way to go, Spartans! Keep setting goals, staying committed, and leading the way.
